While no two studio diaries will be the same, all share the same basic skeleton…here’s how it all fits together.

number1Your Cover

Upload your image, decide on your title, add a subtitle if you wish—from the very first impression, your diary will very obviously have been created by your studio, especially for your students (it has been!).

number2Your Introduction

Your text, your photos, setting the expectations, culture, atmosphere and energy of your studio. What will it focus on? That’s completely up to you…diary usage instructions, practice advice, studio policy, message to parents, quotes about music, syllabus outlines…or you could omit the introduction entirely. (It’s your studio diary! There’s no rule that says you have to have an introduction).

number3Lesson Notes Spread

This is the heart of your diary, the part you’ll be writing in each week…lesson notes, practice instructions, notes to parents, upcoming dates…whatever information you regularly need to be sharing. You’ll be able to choose the layout and edit the headings, so that it matches exactly how you work—there are over 50 templates to choose from and plenty of help to get you thinking.

number4Practice Tools

I’ve assembled a buffet of resources for the final section of your diary; just help yourself to whatever you need. Manuscript paper, practice games, tempo trackers, rep counters, placeholders for sticker collections, practice challenges, Year Planners, practice planners…choose whatever’s useful, set how many pages of each you want. Omit whatever doesn’t suit how you work, retitle anything to match your own workflows.
